The Business Development Center Signs MOU with Al-Aman Fund for the Future of the Orphans
The Business Development Center and Al-Aman Fund share the common interest of providing Jordanians with the needed opportunities to excel and achieve a better life and therefore contributing to Jordan’s economic growth. For this reason, BDC and Al-Aman Fund the Future of the Orphans signed a memorandum of understanding to combine their respective experience and resources in order to pursue activities of mutual benefit that enhance these common goals.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mrs. Maha Al Saqqa the Executive Director of Al-Aman Fund and by Mr. Nayef Stetieh CEO of the Business Development Center at BDC premises on Tuesday, June 23rd.
This MOU comes as part of the Business Development Center's corporate social responsibility and commitment to contributing to the welfare of the Jordanian communities and its youth. Through this MOU, BDC will leverage its strengths and resources to promote Al-Aman Fund initiatives and assist in achieving its objectives. Moreover, BDC desires to contribute its resources to help achieve Al-Aman Fund's mission in providing comprehensive care for orphans between the age of 18 and 21 (at the time of applying for a support scheme). Al Aman Fund’s support schemes are extended in the form of educational scholarships, financial support to secure safe and decent living, specialized subject training, vocational training, academic & psychosocial counseling, and internships & job placements through five major Support Schemes. Beneficiaries are offered a combination of these Support Schemes depending on the evaluation of each individual case.
Al- Aman Fund initiative and its mission is the ideal platform for BDC to invest its resources, promote CSR, and call for Al- Aman Fund principles of partnership, cooperation, community ownership, volunteerism, cost sharing, and transparency.
Activities will include leveraging human resources to utilize its wide pool of the USAID-Funded Maharat Program's young graduates to raise their awareness about this Initiative in Maharat's different training programs and build the capacity of Maharat graduates to enable them to become advocates for this Initiative. In addition, groups of volunteers will be assigned to assist in particular phases and/or activities of the Initiative that includes fundraising. More importantly, BDC will facilitate training workshops that address the attitudes and skills of orphaned graduates of Al Aman Fund’s beneficiaries to enhance their competitive advantage in the employment market as well as providing Al Aman Fund with access to BDC's Capacity Building and Career Development Centers to be utilized for various activities.
